A mentor
The one who taught him to read the runes and to hold his tongue.
Chapter Four
A life told in order, from the first light to the last tide.
Origins
Livius was born into a world already fading. The old places that once held his people went quiet, and the sea closed over what remained. What he knows of his origins he has pieced together from stone, paper and rumour.
Childhood. Raised among old books and cold halls, he learned early to be silent and to watch.
Family. Few of his blood survive. Those who remain are named in the chronicle and in the connections archive.
Those who shaped him, and those he still answers to.

The one who taught him to read the runes and to hold his tongue.

A bond built on disagreement, and respect that took years to earn.

The people who came with him through the dark water.
The moments the tide turned.

The sea rose over his home, and he was the only one to walk out of it.

He swore to keep the archive safe, and that oath has never been set aside.

He went below the waves to find the archive, and chose to stay.
The chronicle, in order.
